Brussels in shutdown mode after terror threat
November 22 , 2015
Brussels is experiencing an unprecedented shutdown following a terror alert issued by the Belgian government of an “imminent threat” to the capital city.
Restaurants and bars shut early and many transport services were suspended, with authorities telling people to avoid crowded places as they fear a Paris-style terror attack.
Soldiers could be seen on the city’s streets amid a continuing manhunt for Salah Abdeslam, the person wanted in connection with the Paris attacks that killed 130 people.
Islamic Sate has claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks.
