Black teen's death: vigil turns to violence
August 11 , 2014
A candlelight vigil being held for a black teenager killed by the police in the United States turned violent after crowds reportedly targeted cars and looted stores in Ferguson, Missouri.
Ferguson’s mayor, James Knowles, said a small group of people were behind the unrest.
The victim, Michael Brown, 18, was reportedly shot by an officer after a scuffle. “We’re outraged because yet again a young African-American man has been killed by law enforcement,” John Gaskin, a civil rights leader, was quoted as saying.
