Bill Gates announces to Step Down from Microsoft Board to Focus on his Philanthropic Priorities

The 65-year old Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has said that he is stepping down from the company’s board so that he can focus and devote more time to his philanthropic activities including global health & development, education, and tackling climate change. While making the announcement, Bill Gates went on to say that Microsoft is always going to be an important part of his life's work and he would continue his engagement with its leadership. The Chronicle of Philanthropy had named Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates as the most generous philanthropists in the US in 2018 for providing $4.8 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation the previous year.
