Bernie Sanders, the Presidential hopeful from Democratic Party, has proposed a revolutionary education policy that will bring paradigm shift in the public schools system in the United States. He made this proposal public while speaking to black voters, who shunned him during 2016 US Presidential election. During his South Carolina speech, Sanders put forward a 10-point proposal that not only promises pumping of billions of US dollars into the public schools system but also to bring an end to the racial disparities in the public education system. While putting forward his new education proposal titled “Thurgood Marshall Plan for Education”, Sanders said that “Every child has a right to a quality K-12 education, regardless of your race, regardless of your income, and regardless of your zip code”. Some of the pointers in the proposal include additional US$5 billion per year spending on summer school and after-school programs, minimum $60,000 a year salaries for teachers, additional US$5 billion per year for community services at schools, and many more.
