June 7 , 2018
Police detained 13 people on Wednesday as a part of a major international investigation into match-fixing in tennis. A criminal organization which has ties in Belgium and Armenia is accused of bribing the professional tennis players to fix the matches since 2014. As per media reports, the fixing took place usually in lower-ranked, and rarely televised tournaments such as the Futures and Challenger circuits as it was easy to bribe the players.
