Australian officials find pings again
April 10 , 2014
Australian officials seem confident about the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and mentioned that they found the signals that had previously gone into silence. Search chief Angus Houston said two sets of pings were detected in the same area as before. "I'm now optimistic that we will find the aircraft, or what is left of the aircraft, in the not too distant future - but we haven't found it yet, because this is a very challenging business," Houston said.
The fact that signals are getting weaker could either mean that the searchers are going further away or the data recorder batteries are fading.
Houston mentioned that they are trying to not let anything get in the way of these signals. Moreover, authorities also confirmed that the signals are consistent with the data recorders on the missing aircraft.
