Aussie woman killed by shark attack
April 4 , 2014
An Australian woman was swimming with her friends at a popular beach she had been going to for 14 years when she got separated from other swimmers. A witness mentioned that Christine Armstrong was attacked by an 11 feet long shark.
Reports suggest that the rest of the people didn't see the animal but "did their best to keep the shark at bay, although it didn't directly attack them," a police inspector said. AP notes that the investigation was fruitless and the woman's partial remains were discovered.
"The community is in shock, and the husband is taking it hard, as he has been with her since they were kids," the police inspector said. The 69-year-old's husband said they feared cancer and heart attacks but "who gets taken by a shark?"
