Aussie girl survives a shark attack
March 19 , 2014
A 10-year-old girl in Australia was attacked by a shark and suffered an injury to her hand. Paramedics were asked to arrive 120 miles from Brisbane, after which the girl was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.
Reports suggest that she is in a stable condition after suffering only a mackerel bite. Australia averages less than two fatal attacks each year and has now launched a shark cull aimed at protecting its swimmers.
A hospital rep mentioned that the truth behind the attack remains unclear despite the fact that initial reports confirmed it to be a shark attack.
