At least 48 dead and over 100 rescued in shopping center fire in Russia

  • At least 48 people were dead and over 100 were rescued in a shopping and entertainment complex in Kemerovo, the Siberian coal-mining city. According to media reports, around 27 people are missing and 41 children have become victim to deadly fire in Russia. The inferno was witnessed on the upper floor of the Winter Cherry complex when many people were present in cinema halls. People had to jump from the window to escape the flames. Nearly 660 emergency personnel have been distributed to the rescue efforts. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
