Amazon says it's 'cooperating' with police after raid in Japan
January 28 , 2015
Police in Japan have raided the Tokyo offices of Amazon as part of a probe into suspected sales of child sex abuse images, according to media reports.
The online publishing firm said it was “cooperating fully” with authorities. However, the firm has reportedly said that it doesn't allow illegal products on the site and they have system and process in place to prevent unlicensed products from being listed.
Japanese police had started the operation against the alleged sale of books that feature abuse images in 2013, and the latest raid is a part of that investigation.
In November, a raid was carried out at the Amazon distribution center in Kanagawa.
