6.3 magnitude earthquake hits Afghanistan

Northern Afghanistan was struck by a 6.3- magnitude earthquake. According to media reports, the tremors were felt as far as India. As per the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Badakhshan province, which is located close to the Tajik and Pakistani borders. It is not clear whether there were any causalities in the region; however, around 17 people were injured in Peshawar in Pakistan.
