17 Killed in Duck Boat Tragedy Weren't Wearing Life Jackets

  • A recent investigation related to the 'duck boat' tragedy reveals that the 17 who killed in the mishap were not wearing life jackets when they were found. The vessel was carrying 31 people as it set on a sail on Thursday near the popular tourist destination of Branson. The boat became the target of intense waves and winds and eventually sank. According to Doug Rader, the Stone County Sheriff, the boat has life jackets but it wasn't required of passengers to wear them. One of the 14 survivors Tia Coleman stated that they were told before the trip that a storm was coming.
