12 sentenced to death for attacks in Xinjiang

China has sentenced 12 people to death for the deadly attacks in Xinjiang province in July this year that led to dozens of deaths, according to media reports.
The authorities have said it was an “organized and premeditated” attack. On July 28, a gang carrying axes and knives reportedly targeted civilians and offices. The police responded by firing.
Besides this incident, several other violent incidents have been reported from the restive province in western China that is home to the Uyghur Muslims.
