116 feared killed in plane crash in north Africa

An Algerian aircraft carrying six crew and 116 passengers and flying from Burkina Faso to Algiers in north Africa crashed, killing all those on board, reports said.
Air Algérie flight AH5017 disappeared from radar screens less than an hour after it took off from Burkina Faso. According to some reports, the flight had been asked to divert its course because of poor weather.
Almost half the passengers on the flight were believed to be French.
