10 killed in militant attack in Cameroon

  • Islamist militants suspected to be linked to Boko Haram, the Nigerian extremist group, shot and killed ten persons in a village in north Cameroon, reports said.

Most of the victims were bus passengers in Zigague. They were reportedly killed when army personnel from Cameroon confronted the militants.

Boko Haram, which has a strong presence in Nigeria’s north-east, has carried out raids into neighboring Cameroon in the past weeks. Around 1,000 soldiers have been deployed by Cameroon to curb such infiltration.
