US man arrested for posting hoax suicide threat on Facebook

  • A 48-year-old-man was arrested for posting a hoax suicide threat on Facebook, media reports stated. Shane Tusch, a part-time electrician based in San Mateo, California, has been admitted to a psychiatric institution. Tusch said that he wanted to test Facebook’s suicide prevention program, which has been recently revamped. The police were alerted by a reader about the man’s threat to hang himself from the Golden Gate Bridge, who subsequently arrested him. Facebook has locked the user’s account.
