Twitter's credit rating is junk

  • Standard & Poor’s has given Twitter a junk-grade credit rating, but said the technology firm had strong growth prospects.

The BB- rating given to the popular social networking firm puts it in the junk category.

The ratings agency has predicted that Twitter’s growth would be healthy in terms of users and revenue, but it is unlikely to have cash for discretionary use till at least 2016.

A Twitter spokesperson described the rating as “unsolicited”, adding that it was based purely on “publicly available information”.
