Sony boss condemns 'vicious' hacker attack
January 6 , 2015
Technology giant Sony has slammed the “vicious and malicious” cyber attack that caused it to suspend the release of the film ‘The Interview’.
During a speech at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show, Kazuo Hirai, the firm’s boss, condemned the anonymous hackers who disrupted Sony’s internal computer networks.
The so-called Guardians of Peace group carried out the hacking attack in an attempt to thwart the film’s release.
Hirai said he was “very proud” of Sony’s employees and partners “who stood up against the extortionist efforts of criminals”.
