Scores of students killed as Taliban targets school in Pakistan

  • The Taliban massacred more than 125 people, most of them children, in a bomb and gun attack on a school in Pakistan’s Peshawar city.

Up to six militants reportedly entered the building of the army-run school. Five were killed after an army operation, reports said. Some 500 students were evacuated from the premises.

This is being described as one of the worst militants attacks in the country.

A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban said the attack was conducted as revenge for military operations against the group.
