PayPal accidentally makes man a quadrillionaire
July 19 , 2013
Chris Reynolds of Media, Penn. has been the first man to ever become a "quadrillionaire" but for a short period of time. PayPal is said to have mistakenly credited his account with $92,233,720,368,547,800 but his balance reverted to zero when he logged on again. PayPal reported this as being an error and said that they appreciate the understanding shown by Reynolds. The company apologized to him and offered to make a donation to a charity of Reynolds' choice.
Reynolds told the Philadelphia Daily News that if he had actually been given that money, he would have used it to pay the national debt and then bought the Phillies with the remaining money.
