Nokia to cut another 10,000 jobs

  • Nokia is to shed another 10,000 jobs globally, bringing the total planned job cuts since Stephen Elop took over as chief executive in September 2010 to more than 40,000.

The Finnish group has also warned that second-quarter losses from its mobile phone business will be larger than expected.

Following the announcement, the firm’s shares closed down 18 percent. Nokia’s have plummeted about 70% since February 2011.
