New social media network attracting thousands, says founder

The new social media network Ello, which has been called the “anti-Facebook” for its pledge to carry no ads, is receiving thousands of joining requests every hour, its founder, Paul Budnitz told.
Budnitz, a bike shop owner from Vermont, US, had initially started Ello for the use of about 90 friends, but he opened it to the larger public in early August.
Budnitz, however, said that he did not think of Facebook as a competitor but as “an ad platform.”
