Moto expected to launch G5 and G5 Plus at MWC 17 Barcelona

  • Adding a full stop to all speculations, Lenovo-owned Motorola has just announced February 26 to be the launch date for its two new smartphones – G5 and G5 plus. The teaser released by the company has date and time pinned on it as 26.02.17 and 4:30 PM local respectively.

    Noticeably, Feb 26 is when the MWC (Mobile World Congress) will begin at Barcelona wherein, Moto has preferred to unveil its new models.

    These to-be-launched models are the successors of last year’s attraction Moto G4 and Moto G4 plus. Though nothing is clear about the feature of the phone yet, industry sources believe Moto G5 plus will have 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip, along with 4 GB of RAM.

    Sufficed with a 16-megapixel rear camera and a selfie shooter of 5-megapixel, Moto G5 will run on Android Nougat platform and will have a 3,080 mAh battery.

    Moto G5, which is rumoured to be coming ‘sans’ the fingerprint scanner, will have 13 MP rear primary camera. Though the prices of both models are still unknown, market indicates that G5 plus will be priced around Rs 26,500.
