Microsoft develops patch for 19-year-old bug

  • Microsoft has fixed a 19-year-old bug present in its software. The bug was discovered in May by researchers from IBM who worked together with Microsoft in developing a fix.

IBM said the flaw was present in every Windows version since 95. It could be exploited to control a PC remotely. Users are therefore being told to download new updates.

Microsoft said it had dealt with the issue during its monthly security updates.
