Judge urges Apple and Samsung to settle before verdict

A U.S. judge has urged the chief executives of Apple and Samsung Electronics to speak to each other at least once before a jury begins deliberating on a patent battle between thetech giants.
"It's time for peace," U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said in a San Jose federal court as the case entered its third week.
The case has been dubbed as one of the biggest-ever technology patent trials.
Samsung risks a potential U.S. sales ban of its Galaxy smartphones and tablet computers while Apple faces a crucial test of its global patent litigation strategy.
Apple sued Samsung last year claiming its smartphones and tablets copied the design of its iPhone and iPad. The South Korean company retaliated by countersuing.
Since then, the two firms have waged legal battle in courtrooms in nearly a dozen countries.
The nine-member jury is due to begin deliberations next week.
