Journalist gets hackers to spy on him and gets chilling results

  • Journalist Adam Penenberg paid a private detective to spy on him about 14 years ago; he did the same this year but asked an ethical team to perform the task.

It took the original investigators a week to find information on Penenberg such as his social security number, rent and bank accounts. However, these hackers performed the task way more efficiently and went further.

Although, the team flew to New York, they didn't make it inside his apartment. They were, however, able to control his wife's computer and managed to locate his social security number and other information such as his banking password.

The investigators could also hack his Twitter account and disable his devices remotely.

Penenberg mentioned that he doesn't consider himself safe from anyone's spying eyes, including the government's.
