Intel says changes leading to faster chips delayed

Intel has said changes to its manufacturing plants that would have resulted in more powerful and faster chips have been delayed. The chip maker encountered problems while its fabrication systems were being upgraded to allow them to make components which are 10 nanometers (nm) in size.
Intel says it will now aim to boost performances of processors using other means. Last week IBM declared that it had found ways to make chips with 7nm components in the lab.
