Human Brain Project faces threat of boycott
July 7 , 2014
Over 100 scientists are threatening to boycott the €1.2 billion Human Brain Project unless major changes are made to it, according to media reports.
The ambitious 10-year project was launched last year by the European commission, with the goal of creating a supercomputer simulation of the human brain.
But researchers claim that the project’s approach is wrong and wasteful, and its goals should be more realistic.
In a letter to the European commission, around 130 researchers warned of boycotting the project in its current form.
