HP tests reveal security loopholes in smartwatches
July 24 , 2015
All popular smartwatches have security glitches, technology company Hewlett-Packard (HP) has said. The US firm tested ten top smartwatches for data encryption, password protection and others security features, and all of them were found wanting in at least one area.
Only half the smartwatches contained a lock function to thwart unwarranted access, and nine sent data that could be intercepted. Some watches permitted unlimited login attempts, making it easier to guess passwords, HP's tests have revealed.
