Google considers Amazon as its biggest search rival

  • Eric Schmidt, the chairman of technology giant Google, has said that when it comes to online search, his company’s biggest rival is Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, according to media reports.

He said people usually did not think of Amazon as a site to search, but for those wanting to buy something, “you are more often than not looking for it on Amazon.”

Amazon recently bought Twitch Interactive, the streaming gaming network, for around $970 million.
