Dell braces itself for tough Q3

  • Personal computer maker Dell expects third-quarter revenue to drop to 2 percent compared to 5 percent in the second quarter due to an "uncertain economic environment".

The admission came as the world's third-largest PC maker revealed its Q2 revenue sat at $14.5 billion.

The news led to its shares falling by 3.7 percent in after hours trading to $11.88, after closing at $12.34.

Once the world's top PC maker, Dell has been steadily losing market share due to the emergence of Asian firms such as Acer and Lenovo.
