China search engine Baidu to release low-cost smartphone
May 16 , 2012
Chinese search engine Baidu has announced the release of its own smartphone.
The move marks the company’s first foray into the mass smartphone market.
The low-cost Changhong H5018 is built by Foxconn and powered by Baidu’s own mobile operating system, Cloud.
Costing less than $158, the phone is set to face fierce competition at the Chinese low-end smartphone market currently dominated by firms such as HTC and Lenovo.
