AT&T drops in-flight 4G plan
November 12 , 2014
AT&T has dropped plans to provide in-flight 4G connectivity, the firm reportedly said.
In a statement, the telecom giant said it was shelving the project and would invest money in other avenues. The decision was taken after “a thorough review of our investment portfolio,” a company spokesperson said.
Earlier this year, AT&T and American firm Honeywell had said that they planned to bring 4G connectivity to US commercial flights, with bandwidth good enough for video streaming.
