Apple ordered to run Samsung 'did not copy iPad' ads

  • A UK judge has ordered Apple to publish announcements that Samsung did not copy the design of its iPad, according to Bloomberg news agency.

    According to the ruling, one notice should remain on Apple's website for at least six months while other adverts must appear in numerous newspapers and magazines.

    This comes after the U.S. company failed to block sales of the South Korean firm's Galaxy Tab tablets.

    The order was not mentioned in Judge Colin Birss's judgement published on July 9 but the matter was discussed following the verdict.

    The notices must refer to the court case and be designed to "correct the damaging impression" that Samsung's tablets had infringed Apple's designs.
