Amazon website goes offline for 45 minutes

  • Amazon had gone offline in the United States as well as in Canada for as long as 45 minutes. The cause of this hasn't been made clear but the company definitely lost a lot of money during this time.

According to Geekwire, the company lost about $4.8 million in sales, which comes up to $120,000 every minute. This amount is almost as much as what Google lost during its total eclipse last week.

Outlook.com and the New York Times website have faced similar difficulties recently. According to the principal technology analyst. Chris Green, "it's very unusual to see such a number of high-profile websites all suffering peak-time outages within the course of a few days of each other."
