Usain Bolt not attempting to break 200-meter record in Diamond League

  • Usain Bolt will not try to break the 200-meter world record in Thursday's Diamond League meeting in Lausanne.

The six-time Olympic champion tops a group of 19 London 2012 gold medal winners.

Bolt will compete against compatriots Warren Weir, Jason Young and Nickel Ashmeade and the USA's Wallace Spearmon at the Pontaise Stadium.

Bolt is the current 200-meter world record holder, with a time of 19.19 seconds in the 2009 World Championship final in Berlin.

The penultimate Diamond League meeting takes place in Zurich on August 30, with the final event in Brussels a week later.
