Two Purdue players arrested for theft

  • Lafayette police arrested two Purdue University football players for theft yesterday.

Players Jordan Woods and B.J. Knauf who are 19 and 20 years of ages, were booked into Tippecenaoe County Jail.

The police arrived at Kohl's inside Tippecanoe Mall where Woods and Knauf were detailed by the prevention officers of the store for stealing two tie bars costing $20 each. The tie bars were recovered before the police arrived.

Reports suggest that coach Darrell Hazell was aware of the incident and Purdue associate director said the coach "takes such matters seriously and respects that there is an ongoing legal process that will allow to evolve before determining any possible disciplinary action."

Both players posted bond and were released on Monday.
