Turkish Football Federation clears clubs of match fixing
May 8 , 2012
Turkey’s Football Federation has cleared the country’s top teams of match fixing after a long-running investigation.
According to a statement released by the federation, the alleged violations “had not materialised”.
Two players were banned last season for trying to fix results.
A separate criminal trial involving 93 officials, players and coaches is still underway.
Up to 22 league matches during the 2010-2011 season are believed to have been targeted by match fixers.
