Texting the coach may be an effective draft strategy

Johnny Manziel, who was the first freshman to receive the Heisman Trophy, texted the Cleveland Browns' quarterback coach, instead of waiting during the NFL draft.
USA Today reports that he asked Dowell Loggains to "hurry up" and draft him since he wanted to "wreck this league together."
"When I got that text, I forwarded it to the owner and to the head coach," Dowell Loggains said on Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly. "I'm like, 'this guy wants to be here.'" Owner Jimmy Haslam responded positively as well. "Pull the trigger," he said. "We're trading up to go get this guy."
