  • Serena Williams secured a place in the final of the Italian Open beating Simona Halep of Romania 6-3 6-0. She thereby prolonged her winning streak to 23 matches.

The top-seeded player will face victoria Azarenka or Sara Errani in Sunday's final. If she wins, it will be her fourth title in a row this year.
