Roger Federer advances to Round 3 at French Open

  • Swiss champ Roger Federer breezed through his second-round match on Wednesday at the 2013 French Open.

    The second-seeded former world No. 1 beat Indian Somdev Devvarman 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 in 82 minutes.

    Devvarman was a two-time NCAA champion during his time at the University of Virginia.

    Federer boasts a record 254 Grand Slam singles match wins and is in third place on the men's Open-Era list with 56 wins at the French Open.

    He next faces Frenchman Julien Benneteau.
