The Premier League has drawn up guidelines for players on how to use social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Players have been offered advice on brand endorsements and also warned not to reveal confidential information regarding team matters.
The guidelines also cover disciplinary action that the Football Association (FA) can take against players who make inappropriate comments on social media.
Numerous players have been charged over comments on social networking sites, the latest being Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong, who was charged by the FA with improper conduct on Twitter.
