Olympic Torch being taken to the space station
November 8 , 2013
The Russians are now taking the Olympic torch to the International Space Station and it won't be lit for the five days it spends in space.
The torch was previously taken to space before the Atlanta Games in 1996 but it will experience its first spacewalk this week. The 2014 Sochi Torch has already been to the North Pole and will soon see the bottom of Lake Baikal and the top of Mount Everest.
In the midst of these exciting developments, the bad news is that the flame has gone out multiple times since last month's relay.
