NFL's concussion deal is too little to cover all players
January 15 , 2014
A federal judge disapproved of a $765M settlement between players who suffered concussions and NFL. The reason for this may not be what you think.
Judge Anita Brody thinks the funds won't be enough to cover about 20,000 players and she's now looking to receive more details in terms of finances. The US District Judge is particularly concerned about players who haven't been diagnosed as of yet.
The AP notes that the deal would award $5M to players suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease, $4M to those who died due to brain trauma and $3M in cases of dementia.
