NBA tries to force Sterling out
May 21 , 2014
The NBA has charged LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling with damaging the diversity of the league by making racist remarks. Now the league will have to convince the majority of the owners to force Sterling out.
The NBA said in the statement that Sterling's actions "harm NBA owners, players, and Clippers team personnel; and impair the NBA's relationship with marketing and merchandising partners, as well as with government and community leaders."
Sterling is expected to respond to the charges within five days; he said he plans to fight them and has made it clear that he won't pay the $2.5M fine, as per media reports.
