Maria Sharapova confirms failed drug test

  • Mario Sharapova, the former world number one, confirmed that she had failed a drugs test at the Australian Open. As per media reports, the 28-year-old Russian tennis player had tested positive for meldonium. She had been taking the substance since 2006 for health issues. The International Tennis Federation has said that Sharapova would be provisionally suspended from March 12.
