LA Dodgers' Chad Billingsley undergoes elbow surgery

  • Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley underwent Tommy John surgery on Wednesday night.

Billingsley is set to begin physical therapy in about a week and is expected to make a full recovery within a year.

The right-hander was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts this season.

Billingsley missed the final two months of last season with a partially torn elbow ligament but chose not to undergo offseason surgery. Instead, he received platelet-rich plasma injections.
