August 12 , 2014
Miroslav Klose, the German striker, who has scored the most World Cup goals, has retired from international football, as per media reports.
The 36-year-old scored 16 goals in four World Cups — one ahead of Brazil’s Ronaldo.
Klose was a key player in the German squad that lifted the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and scored two goals in the tournament. In a statement he said the team’s success “stood and always stands for me in the highest place.”
