IOC to investigate London Olympics tickets investigation
June 18 , 2012
The International Olympic Committee is looking into claims Olympics representatives were willing to sell thousands of tickets for the London Games on the black market.
The decision comes after a dossier of evidence submitted by the Sunday Times involving more than 50 countries.
Tickets for top events were reported to be priced at up to ten times face value.
More than one million tickets were distributed abroad among all the nations taking part in the Games.
National Olympic committees must ensure their allocation is only sold within their own region.
No tickets intended for the British market were involved.
