Iceland seals a place at the 2018 World Cup

Iceland, which defeated Kosovo in Reykjavik, has sealed a place at the World Cup 2018. With this victory, Iceland has become the smallest country to qualify for a World Cup finals. The opener against Kosovo was scored by Gylfi Sigurdsson. A second goal was scored by Johann Gudmundsson in the second half. Trinidad & Tobago, which reached the finals in 2006, was the previous smallest country to achieve the feat.
